Visit the symbol of Lithuania’s statehood – The Palace of Grand Dukes! The Palace represents the rich history of Grand Duchy of Lithuania and shows impressive collection of artifacts reminding of prosperous past of Lithuania.
 During the tour you will learn how the state of Lithuania was formed, how it became the biggest country in XV ct Europe, how the palace was changing during the centuries and why it was demolished. Professional guide will tell you how the everyday life and the festivities of the Grand Dukes looked like, which drink was used as a “table water” in medieval times, what “shocking” tool was brought to Lithuania by Italian princess Bona Sforza, what relates Louis XVI of France with the rulers of Lithuania, where the first opera in Lithuania was performed, what happened to the treasury of the palace and many other known and unknown stories about rich history of Lithuania.

 

During the tour, you will visit:

The Grand Courtyard of the Palace;

Undergrounds with the authentic remains of the walls;

The rich collections of the items found during the research (tiles, weapons, jewelry, etc.);

Restored interiors of the palace (guardrooms, halls of throne, working cabinets, private rooms);
