Rich baroque heritage in Antakalnis is the legacy of two powerful hetmans – Michael Casimir Pacas and Casimir John Sapieha.
The church of St. Peter and St. Paul has been elected as one of the most beautiful Churches in the world! The interior of the church hosts over 2 000 stucco figures and numerous frescoes. Moreover, it is believed that the founder of the Church, hetman Michael Casimir Pacas, is buried at the entrance to the church…
While the Palace of Sapieha, together with the garden and the church of Jesus the Redeemer is the only baroque complex of the palace and the garden remaining in Lithuania.
